Cognitive decline, sugar cravings, and brain fog are often linked to years of sugar and carbohydrate overconsumption, leading to insulin dysfunction and brain glucose starvation. However, brain cells can utilize ketones, derived from a specific fat called C eight oil in MCT oil. Consuming two tablespoons of MCT oil daily can boost brain energy production from ketones by over 200%, reducing brain fog and sugar cravings, especially beneficial for those in early stages of memory decline.

Have you noticed either in yourself or maybe a relative that you are looking after with dementia? A cognitive decline, an increase in sugar cravings, brain fog, and sugar cravings. This is extremely common and what’s actually happening is, uh, through years of over consumption of sugar and carbohydrates, the insulin, which is the hormone that drives the glucose into the brain, isn’t working properly. So the brain is literally starved of glucose and the message it’s gonna send back is, give me sugar. So we noticed this big increase in craving for sugar in people with dementia. So what’s the solution? Well, those brain cells, neurons actually can run on two fields, either glucose, which we know is a bit gunked up so many people or ketones. Ketones are made from fat and a very specific kind of fat, which is called C eight oil eight carbons long. It’s part of what we call MCT oil, medium chain triglycerides. So in the health store you may see MCT oil, C six, C eight, C 10, C 12, but you may actually find pure ca oil. That is what the liver turns into. Ketones and studies have shown that two tablespoons a day, which you can put in your coffee or a smoothie, uh, actually increases the brain’s energy production from ketones by over 200%. The net effect is less brain fog and less craving for sugar. So there’s a quick tip if you’re helping somebody in the early stages of memory decline.
