Collagen supplements can be safely combined with other nutrients like vitamins, minerals, glucosamine, and chondroitin. The timing of intake depends on personal preference, with some people choosing to take it in the morning. However, caution is advised when a collagen supplement contains added nutrients to avoid doubling up. It’s also recommended to separate medication and vitamins as per doctor’s advice. Can You Take Collagen with Other Supplements?
Transcript
Do you know which of your supplements you shouldn’t be taking together As a nutritionist and collagen expert, people ask me all the time, can collagen be taken with other supplements? So let’s dive into what goes well with collagen and what you should avoid. It can be so challenging to know what supplements to take and at what time, especially if you’re taking a whole bunch of supplements. The good news is, is that you can take collagen with other supplements. It can easily be combined with other nutrients, including your daily multivitamin or even other specialized nutrients. There’s studies that actually use collagen in a complex along with other vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, B vitamins, zinc and copper, glucosamine and chondroitin, just to name a few. And there’s also many collagen supplements on the shelf that combine collagen with other nutrients too, like vitamin C, biotin, glutamine, hyaluronic acid, and tryptophan, just as a few examples. So there’s really no issues with combining collagen with other nutrients. Also, another good thing is that there’s really no set time on when to take collagen. It really comes down to personal preference. So again, another thing that you just don’t have to worry about when starting to take collagen supplements. Personally, I like to take my collagen in the morning. I sort of habit stack it with my morning supplements, so you can just add it into your routine however you like. Now, the only thing that I caution against is if you’re taking a collagen supplement that has added nutrients in the formula, like I mentioned earlier, and you’re taking other supplements on the side, just be sure to check your labels to make sure that you’re not doubling up or taking more than the recommended dose when combined. And the last thing is that if you’re taking medication, sometimes it’s recommended to separate your prescription from your vitamins, maybe within a few hours or so. But just speak with your doctor if you need further guidance on that. So yes, overall you can safely combine collagen supplements with your other supplements. So it’s just one less thing that you have to worry about in your routine. Now if you’re already taking collagen and maybe you’re looking for creative ways to use that collagen powder, check out the links in the description down below.
